Hi! I am
Daniela.
Graphic Designer. Art Director. Architect,
but not really. Motion Designer in the making.
Dogmom and gamer too. Welcome to my portfolio!
Studies
On the paper, I am an architect with a bachelor degree from Fortaleza University in Brazil and a masters in Design for Sustainable Development from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. But in reality I have worked very little with architecture. My passion has always been graphic design, and I have been working in the field since 2009. 2008? Let’s say 2009.
Now I have been studying motion design a bit, taking courses at School of Motion.
Graphic design
I started my career as an intern in a design studio in Brazil, working under my Visual Communication teacher. He understood right away that I was more interested in design than buildings. When I finished university, he invited me to continue working there as a designer/architect.
I stopped working to continue studying, and once again came back to graphic design, but this time in Borås, Sweden. There I worked as a designer for NetOnNet, designing packaging, ads and even working a bit with illustration.
I moved to Norway, had a brief period working at Elopak while I found my ground in a new country, and ended up at Foll Reklamebyrå (that back then was called Fjeldheim & Partners). There I learned what it means to be a “potato” in this business - I worked with pretty much everything. Print, digital, store furnishings, motion. Packaging, catalogs, animation for in-store screens, a coloring book, stands, a huge online signage manual, tiny price markers, a sign that covered a whole facade. I have been there for 6 years and counting, now.
Countries
I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Moved a bit northeast, to Fortaleza, in 2001. It wasn’t north enough, so I did something radical and went to Sweden to study in 2010. There i found myself - and a Norwegian boyfriend, who took me home in 2014.
Now I am officially Norwegian, passport and all.
“But don’t you miss the Brazilian weather?”
No. :)
Hobbies
I love gaming. Long J-RPGs are my thing, but some team FPS’s can be fun (if those letters mean nothing to you, don’t worry, it’s nerd stuff). I love spending time with my boyfriend and my dog watching something on Netflix, as long as it’s funny. I should probably draw more, nowadays I just doodle while talking on the phone. Lately I’ve been really into Formula 1.
